Hi ๐ Iโm Ria
What makes up my 9 years of work experience?
Bachelor in Math and Econ with honors, I started my career about 9 years ago on the Uber Maps team in the Bay Area. I had the opportunity to lead an Ops team of 13, responsible for enhancing Uber Maps' global operations, contributing to improved safety and ETA accuracy across 500+ cities.
In 2019, I transitioned into the agency world at Monks, as a program manager for Googleโs UX Infrastructure team, enabling crucial research across Google's product ecosystem. I got to collaborate with over 20 product areas (including Maps, Nest, YouTube, and Travel), where I doubled our programโs output in about a year.
I had the opportunity to move into a broader account management role, where I gained visibility through long-term success growing one of Monks' highest-revenue Google accounts. I led revenue growth, proposals, and project execution for Google Ads. This role was a pivotal turning point, stretching my skills beyond program management into cross-functional, executive-level work and strategic thinking, ultimately paving my way to the strategy team.
By the end of 2021, I'd stepped into a strategy role. Within my time here, I've moved to LA and have been designing and executing marketing initiatives and GTM efforts for Google brands like Android, Developers, Google Ads, Chromebook, and others. Along with new biz, my niche on the team focuses on:
Audience and persona development to deeply understand the user
User journey mapping and messaging architecture to craft resonant experiences
Product strategy and competitive research to inform launches and roadmaps
>> Looking ahead, Iโm focused on transitioning back to an in-house role, where I can immerse myself more deeply in the product lifecycle and have long-term, tangible impact with a team.
